EU-Mercosur trade deal: French lawmakers overwhelmingly reject treaty in non-binding vote

Prime Minister Michel Barnier had hoped for a unanimous vote in support of the government's declaration opposing the signing of the free trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur, to strengthen his position in Brussels. However, MPs from the radical left did not support him.
